2 14.1 ozcan of hearts of palmDrain but reserve brine for later
1CupOf brine from hearts of palm
3tbsSoy sauce
2tbsMolasses
Juice of 3/4 lemon
2CupFlour of choice
2tspBaking powder
2tspsalt
1tsp.Black pepper
3/4CupGreen onionsliced thin
5garlic clovesminced
2CupCarrots shredded
2tspSmoked Paprika
2tspCumin
2tspNutrtional Yeast
2tsp21 Seasoning Salute
2tbsOle bay oil for frying
Instructions
First, drain and shred the hearts of palm; using your hands to shred the palms works best. Place in a bowl and add the soy sauce, molasses, and lemon juice to the heart of palms, mix and put to the side. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, 21 seasoning salute, nutritional yeast, and black pepper in another bowl, then place to the side.
Next, grab the hearts of palm mixture and combine the green onions, garlic cloves, carrots, cumin, ole bay, and smoked paprika and mix well. Once the heart of palms mixture is well combined, add it to the flour mixture and stir in the 1 cup of brine. Make sure the mixture is blended well. Add oil to the skillet. Make sure the oil is hot enough to fry the fritters. Add 1/2 c of the mix into the skillet and flatten with a spatula. Don't overcrowd the skillet, and fry both sides until golden brown.
