A coalition of New Yorkers and animal organizations gathered in force on the steps of New York City Hall to urge NYC Council members to approve a bill introduced by New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio to ban carriage horses from NYC and retire all of them to sanctuaries that are already lined up to take them. Notably missing from the event, which included reps from Friends of Animals, NYCLASS and the Humane Society of the United States was the media.
