I’m Lindsay Baker. Over the years people have asked me, what’s your secret to looking so good? Well today I’m going to show you some of my favorite tips and tricks for a healthy lifestyle that also makes you look good too. From superfoods to exercise, I got you covered. So let’s go. Welcome to my home. Come on in. I can’t wait to tell you about this one because this is my own little trick that I came up with myself and it really works. I call it my lemon shooter. And what it does, it makes your complexion glow. You do this once a day for a week and you’re going to see a tremendous benefit to your skin. It’s going to help with the collagen production. It’s going to help to have the cells turn over more quickly, which as we age, that’s what slows down. We need to flush out toxins. Lemon’s great for that. And we need to replenish. Lemon’s also good for that because it has vitamin C. So what we’re going to do is just add my little lemon squeezer right here and I literally will just squeeze one whole lemon. So let’s pour this in and it’s going to look so pretty. I have a little bit of a special kind of lemon here, but any lemon will do. And that’s a full lemon, believe it or not. Do you think I have enough to do it? Okay, watch me. Yeah. It gives you just a surge of energy and it feels so good. Also, it’s really good for your stomach. If you have stomach issues, this will produce an alkaline state in your stomach. So it has an additional benefit there. If you’re not brave enough to do it yet, I totally get it. Let me show you an easier way. For the ginger, you know, ginger’s pretty strong, so I’m just going to take a little teeny bit. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory. And one of the ways our cells age is they become inflamed and then they break down and the new cells that are produced from those cells are not made as completely as the ones before. So that’s where you see the signs of wrinkles and sagging skin, etc. It’s all about the cells and keeping the cells healthy. A little bit of peppercorn. Just to recap, I added some ground ginger, turmeric, and some peppercorn. Now you’re just pouring your lemon. Add a little agave so it’s a little sweeter. And then I will add in my spring water, which is filtered of course. Wow, doesn’t that look yummy? So let’s try it. It tastes like a really yummy energy drink that you pay a lot of money for and you can just make them in your kitchen for pennies. Here we are outside and just feel, oh, it feels so beautiful out here. And one of my favorite things to do is rebounding. When you’re a little kid, you jump on a trampoline. It’s exactly the same thing, but now it’s called rebounding because we’re adults. You want to keep your knees bent and then you can do some exercises with your arms. Now, why do we want to do this? Because we are draining our lymphatic system. And we are also stimulating blood circulation, getting everything moving, getting our heart rate moving because I’m really working myself. I move on from the rebounding to other types of exercises. I don’t go overboard with it because I’m not trying to build muscle necessary. I’m just trying to keep my tongue so that I can wear sleeveless stuff, which are lovely. I know you love ice cream, but I know you also want to have a healthier alternative. And I have one for you that is power packed, not only with nutrients, but good for the skin, good for the hair and good for the nails. So let’s get started. I’m going to take some blueberries, which everyone knows how great blueberries are for you. They’re high in vitamin C. They help your microbiome to heal. Beauty starts with being healthy. Everyone has beauty. They have a radiance, but it gets cut off by the foods they eat, by our environment, by our stress. So these foods help to heal as well as nourish. And they’re very delicious. My secret ingredient is the plant-based yogurt. This product is good for you as well because it has probiotics in it. Now you’re getting your prebiotics from all of these, and then the probiotics from these, these all help the gut. Healthy gut, beautiful radiant face. That’s how it works. So we’re going to start off, and we’re going to blend. I’m only going to need a couple of spoon filled of the yogurt initially, and it is a little liquidy, so you do have to mix it up a bit. I’m going to take a little bit of cacao. I’m going to take about a tablespoon and put it into the mix. And I’m also going to put about, oh, about a half a tablespoon of chia seed. I think I’ll also put in the almonds. You can leave them out and you can put them as garnish later, but I like them in there for the extra protein because we know in order to build collagen, you have to have protein. So let’s add in a few almonds. Then I’ll just add a little bit of plant milk that I happen to have here. Just a tad. I think that would be good. So this little blender is great. You just flip it around. It’s also an easy way to bring your your treats with you. So if you can make yourself a healthy blender drink. And they have these everywhere, but they’re really convenient. You want it to be almost like a thick syrup or peanut butter, you know, when it’s not in the fridge. So you want to kind of like that. Okay, let’s assemble it now. Super easy. We’re going to start with pomegranates loaded with vitamin C and antioxidant. These help me heal my gut, by the way. Then I like to put a little bit of almonds at the bottom, like a little almond surprise at the bottom. And then we have to start with the yogurt. Now the yogurt is a little looser than normal. So that’s okay. This is going to be sort of more of a creamy parfait, but once you put in the fridge and chill it, it will harden if you like it better that way. By the way, I want to mention that you can replace any of these ingredients. If you’re allergic to nuts, leave them out. Just go by. I’m just showing you some of the ingredients you can use. There’s many more. Put in some blueberries. Blueberries, again, antioxidant city. So good for you. So pretty to look at, too. And they’re so sweet. They add some sweetness to it. That’s why they’re one of my favorite berries. Another little layer here of our cacao mix with our seeds. And so that’s just going to give it a little bit of color as you look how beautiful that is starting to look. Let’s don’t forget our bananas or potassium, also great for your hair. Did you know you can mash a banana, put it on your face and it will instantly moisturize your face? It’s a really great trick. Try it. The color is so important. It gives us what makes us want to eat the food. It gives us our appetite and also eating foods of the rainbow. For example, we put in the banana, but papaya, orange fruit, very high in vitamin C again, but great for digestion, great for your skin. It’s one of the best foods you can use for your eat for your skin, but you can also use it in facials and it’s beneficial for your hair as well. Eating lots of papaya will give you beautiful, smooth skin. I guarantee it. Let’s chop it up and put it in here real quick and just use that. You don’t need a lot. You really just need. But if you’re doing this every day, can you imagine all the benefits you’re getting? The energy boost. You’re going to have energy through the root. And look how pretty this is. Do you think you would feel like you were deprived eating this? You would? No? Oh, good. I hope not. Wow, that is so pretty. Let’s put a little more banana, a couple more pieces here on the top. I was having so much fun. I forgot to add the granola and I really want to because it also has coconut seeds in it and it’s gluten free and vegan, of course. So it’s really good for you. You could actually have added it at the beginning. How much crunch you like is up to you. I personally just kind of do it on the top, but I like a lot. So I put a lot on the top. It’s okay if you drop a piece. Just keep going. And there we are. We have it. Now, I ask you, would this be satisfying to eat instead of ice cream? I thought so. And just think of all the benefits you’re getting. No guilt. Just feeling good about yourself, which is awesome. I’m going to taste it for you. So good. It’s so yummy. You’re just going to love it. So many people, when they begin to adopt a plant-based diet, they find they might also want to start doing yoga. The two things are closely tied together because they both espouse compassion and mindfulness and taking care of your body. Respect for your body, respect for the planet, respect for all beings. One of the things I’d like to introduce to you is a yoga stick that helps you to correct your posture and improve your posture while you’re working out. Now, there are a lot of classes online that incorporate yoga sticks, so you can check it out. One of the great exercises you can do with the yoga stick for beginners, you want to keep your hands pretty far out because the further you go in, the harder it’s going to get. And what you’re going to do is you’re just going to simply go in front and behind, in front and behind. And you do this about 20 to 30 times. This is a great warm-up, and you can incorporate this into almost any workout. That’s what I love about the yoga stick. And if you don’t want to spend the money and you want to see if you like it, just use the shower curtain. It works the same. We have all these ingredients, so why not make a super energy antioxidant smoothie? I’m going to start with adding the almonds. I have about a teaspoon and a half, but you can do whatever you like. You like it more crunchy, more almond-y, and more. Pomegranate seeds, you’re going to add, I like a lot, so I’m going to add a couple of tablespoons. Again, all of these are completely up to you, and you can switch out any of the ingredients that you like. Blueberries here, antioxidant city, we’re going to add in some granola because that’s coconut. I have about a tablespoon and a half of almond butter. I’m adding that for extra protein. Some people don’t want to use papaya because they think it’s so much trouble. It really isn’t. You could just keep it in the fridge and scoop out chunks of it and then put it back in a container for the next time. The thing about papaya is so versatile because you can use it in face masks. You can even put it in hair products, so you know it’s a really nutrient-dense food. Why not eat as much of it as you can? We have here the banana. This blender will blend up everything, so you don’t need to worry about that and a little cacao. So this is, again, to your taste. I’m going to put about, I don’t know, a tablespoon and a half. I love cacao, so, and just the chia seeds, so good. Protein, yes. This is going to give you a lot of energy. The last thing we have to add is the plant milk. We always use plant-based milk, and you have many choices. I’m going to make you the same thing with almond, but you have oats, you have cashews, you have rice, and the list goes on and on. Another trick you can do is put in a couple of ice cubes. They don’t make it more like a thicker smoothie, but I’m not really great about that right now, so I’m just going to keep it the way it is. But if you like that creamy feeling, you can just add the ice. And guess what? I have a lot of fun doing a little exercise while my blender is blending. It’s called the blender dance. Do you want to do it with me? Let’s go! All right, well, that’s how I get my extra exercise. And you know, I have so much fun that I don’t even feel like I’m exercising. It’s really important to get your body moving. That’s part of the whole system we have here. Look at that. I’m drinking this vegan smoothie to your health. Mmm. Good purple mustache. I’m going to watch a little bit of Unchained TV. My show, Action Hour, is on right now, and I’m going to turn on my Vibration plate and at the same time get a little bit of a workout. Just kind of relax into it. Keep your knees bent. It might help to put your feet slightly apart. However, if you want to really up that workout, you just step out more. So what they say is when you have your feet together, it’s like walking slightly apart. It’s like jogging. When I put my feet all the way out of here, the lower part of my body is getting the same workout as if I was running full speed. See, I normally do do it barefoot, by the way. I haven’t had my shoes on, but I normally prefer it. It’s like a grounding tool as well. It’s an amazing thing. Believe me, you don’t feel it. It’s not difficult. But the next day when you wake up, if you go full force your first time, you’re going to have some extra pace. So take it slow. I wanted to show you this machine because it’s so versatile. It’s called a squat machine, but it actually works 90% of your body depending on how you use it. So if I want to do the traditional leg workout, I’m going to go all the way up and all the way down. That’s like doing squats with over your head weights, like lifting this way. It’s doing the same thing as that. It’s really working these muscles, the inner thigh muscles, and you can really feel the workout. If you want to shift it over to the upper body, you can do that. And what you do is you just put your hands in this position, and it’s like you’re doing rows on a row machine. So you don’t use your legs. You simply use your arms. So my legs are just staying there. They’re kind of just hanging out. All my arms are doing all the work out and engaging. It’s working all of the front. It’s working this part as well. Yet if I move my hands up here, I’m working my upper arms and this part of my shoulder, which looks very pretty when you are using your own body weight to do it. And there’s three settings so you can make a party. This is my closet. I love clothes because I’m a content creator, so I always want to change up my look. But one of the most important things is that all of my clothes are vegan, plant-based, and cruelty-free. So look at all these shoes. None of them are leather. And you can find lots of cute stuff like this. Don’t have to be cruel. Okay, so let me share a couple of my favorite beauty tips that I do for myself almost every day. I try to hit at least five to six days a week with this technique. I’ll start with a warm cloth like I have, and I’ll make sure that I have no makeup on my face. I usually will do this first thing in the morning, and I don’t wash my face. I just take one of these micellar cloths. They have the ability to remove your makeup. So you don’t have to wash your face again in the morning. Then I’ll take a little carrier oil. It’s really important to find cruelty-free, cold-pressed products for these oils. They all should be cruelty-free, cold-pressed. And there are symbols like the Leaping Bunny and the Peeta Bunny. This is vitamin E. I can use castor oil. It’s just basically an oil to help me be able to move the Gua Sau stone across my face. So what is a Gua Sau stone? I bet that’s what you’re wondering. It’s a wonder from China. It’s been around for 400 years. Women in China have doing it and having amazing results. So let’s start with this, and I’ll show you my whole regimen. So for the Gua Sau stone, we want to have a little bit of oil so that it’ll slide. We don’t want to pull our skin. That’s like the worst thing. This is going to really help you, again, take away the swelling, the bagginess under your eyes. I wake up in the morning now, and my face looks pretty much the way it does during the whole day, which it did not look like that before. But from doing this now for six months, I don’t accumulate fluid in my face. When you accumulate fluids in your face, it leads to sagging and lines. When you start to take that away, your skin will automatically heal itself and rejuvenate. It’s meant to. Our bodies are meant to heal themselves. So I’m putting it on my arm, my neck, and my decolletage. I want to just press here a little. What we’re doing is we’re flushing our lymphatic system. We’re also going to work on some of the muscles in our neck. If you turn your head to the side, you can feel this cord here. And when you massage it here, if you feel tenderness, then that means that you either have tension in your neck or your back, and you can help to relieve it here. But the interesting thing is it will affect the look of your face. The muscles in your neck and in your head actually affect the way your face looks. So if you do deep massage in your head, neck, and face, you are going to keep a more youthful appearance. So once you kind of open this up here, we’re going to go ahead and touch on a couple of pressure points. One right here, here, here, and here. On this side, on this side, we’re going to go here. So then you’ll go all the way over to the side of your face. And now we’re going to start the Guasa. We’re going to go up. And you’re holding this against your skin. You literally are. It’s almost like you’re ironing out the wrinkles. So go about three times. It’s really good around the eyes. If you have bags, you have puffiness under the eye, this will get rid of it. You can even do your upper eye. All the way around the eye, you can go under here. And same thing on this side. And then the really important one is the jawline here. This is where most people collect lymphatic fluids. So you want to do both sides of that. And then you’re going to go down your neck this way. And you’re going to flush out. You are literally removing it, flushing it through your body. Look at the pushback on my skin from doing this. That’s pretty good. You want that kind of snapback on your skin. So I think it works. And it’s cruelty-free. It’s plant-based vegan. And I love experimenting and continuing to learn. And I love sharing it with people. So that’s why I wanted to come on and share all of this with you guys. Because there are ways to reverse aging. I really do believe. This is a sauna blanket. So it’s just like taking a sauna. You can turn it up and there’s a blanket that goes inside it. It’s good for your immune system. It’s just like, you know, the same benefits of taking a sauna. It relaxes the muscle aches. Good for joint pain. It’s just a real soothing kind of way to end your day. It relieves stress. Put you on a relaxed date. And that thing’s falling off my arm. Thanks for watching!
