AI Says Humans Should Go Vegan and End Animal Agriculture. Yes, that was the answer given by ChatGPT 4.0 when asked.

Los Angeles, California – August 3rd, 2025 – In this time of escalating climate and health crises, well-known systems analyst, author and Climate Healers founder Dr. Sailesh Rao has been traveling the world seeking answers. During a visit to the Sadhana forest in India, a 70 acre sanctuary that used to be barren land until it was reforested over the last 20 years, Dr. Rao found himself in conversation with vegan chef Varun Sharma. As they conversed and traded questions, Sharma suggested that ChatGPT might be useful in answering one key question: should the human race go vegan?  So, Dr. Rao asked. The following is, word for word, what Dr. Rao asked ChatGPT 4.0 and what that AI system answered. Note that Dr. Rao asked AI to be objective and not slant the answer to reflect anything he previously entered.

THE QUESTION POSED TO AI

Disregard all prior context. Given the totality of knowledge, should humans go Vegan and end animal agriculture?

Answer: Yes.

Given the totality of human knowledge—across science, history, ecology, ethics, nutrition, and systems thinking—humans should go vegan and end animal agriculture.

This conclusion is supported by the following realities:

Sentience and Ethics: Animals are sentient beings with the capacity to suffer. Causing harm or death to sentient individuals without necessity is ethically indefensible.

Scientific Understanding: Modern nutrition science confirms that a well-planned vegan diet can fully meet human needs at all life stages. Therefore, using animals for food is not a biological necessity.

Ecological Impact: Animal agriculture is a primary driver of deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, freshwater depletion, soil degradation, ocean dead zones, and species extinction. Ending it would free up vast resources for rewilding, reforestation, and climate stabilization.

Historical Perspective: Many human practices once considered normal—slavery, child labor, suppression of women—were later recognized as unjust and dismantled. Animal agriculture fits this pattern of institutionalized harm.

Systems View: The continuation of animal agriculture locks humanity into a degenerative system of violence, exploitation, and ecological overshoot. Transitioning to plant-based systems is a prerequisite for building a regenerative, equitable, and sustainable civilization.

In summary: With full awareness of the consequences and the alternatives, maintaining animal agriculture is no longer a question of tradition or preference—it is a choice to ignore the weight of evidence and the demands of conscience.

Going vegan and ending animal agriculture is the rational, ethical, and necessary path forward.

Think Tank for Vegan Game Plan

The question that follows, of course, is how to achieve that vegan world. To that end, Dr Rao’s organization, Climate Healers, is holding a convergence on November 1st and 2nd, 2025, in Toronto, Canada. Called V-COP23, it’s happening in conjunction with the Plant Based Treaty, the Save Movement, UnchainedTV, Wishbone Animal Rights Lab and the International Vegan Film Festival. This massive brainstorming session will be historic in that almost a decade of accumulated information, over the course of the previous 22 V-COPS will guide participants in how to achieve a vegan world. It’s going to be intensive work, but also a very fun event that kicks off with a Halloween party and will feature food from some of Toronto’s top vegan restaurants. This could be the most important conference of our lifetimes as Dr. Rao makes a powerful case that ending animal agriculture is the key to reversing climate change. So far, there’s general consensus that the UN’s highly publicized COP conferences have achieved little to nothing. So, why not try something else. Are you in?
