The Korean Vegan – aka Joanne Molinaro – launches Korean Vegan Beauty, a cruelty-free skincare line inspired by her mother which honors her heritage and her values of compassion and health

Hollywood, California – August 7th, 2025 – A bold new brand is redefining what it means to be beautiful. With the launch of Korean Vegan Beauty, New York Times bestselling author and global vegan advocate Joanne Molinaro—also known as The Korean Vegan—ushers in a new standard in cruelty-free skincare that is both rooted in tradition and powered by innovation.

K-Beauty Meets Vegan Ethics in Hero Launch

The Korean Vegan

Unveiled on July 31st in Los Angeles, Korean Vegan Beauty introduced two flagship products: an All-in-One Anti-Aging Cream and a Vegan Collagen Smoothing Shampoo. Both were developed and manufactured in Korea, blending centuries-old beauty traditions with plant-based ingredients.

“My mother told me that when she was a little girl, she saw persimmon blossoms strewn on the ground at her feet. They were so lovely, she picked one up and ate it, hoping she would grow to be as beautiful as the flower,” said Molinaro. “That’s why l’d been using K-beauty products for most of my adult life. But, since adopting a vegan lifestyle, I found it challenging to move towards a completely cruelty-free K-beauty regimen… So l created one.”

Inside the Formulations: Purpose Meets Purity

Each formula in the Korean Vegan Beauty line was crafted with intentionality. Highlight ingredients include Bakuchiol, a gentle retinol alternative, and Vegan Collagen developed with Korean recombinant technology. Other ingredients include: Yeast/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Hydrolyzed Soybean Powder, and an Asian Medicinal Herb Complex used in traditional Korean medicine.

Behind every component lies a dual mission: authenticity and impact. These ingredients are not just clean and cruelty-free—they’re culturally resonant. “Omma always had an array of creams, tonics, and powders from Korea on her vanity… her beauty ritual a spell… one that she cast not just on herself, but also on me,” Molinaro recalled.

Beauty Rooted in Heritage, Designed for the Future

The brand’s ethos rejects fast trends in favor of deep connection. Molinaro collaborated with top Korean R&D experts to ensure that every product is both high-performance and culturally authentic. The result is a product line that prioritizes skin and scalp health while honoring ancestral rituals.

Compassion is Cool… and Gorgeous

This new product line also proves that you do not need to use any animal products to have radiant skin and hair. Molinaro, already a leading voice in compassionate cooking, has now expanded her reach to show the world that there is never any reason to harm another sentient being, not for food and not for beauty. She is living proof that a compassionate lifestyle leaves you feeling and looking gorgeous.

“Together with K-Beauty experts, I wanted to build something beautiful—products that are good for your skin, your hair, and the world,” said Molinaro. With Korean Vegan Beauty, the landscape of ethical skincare now includes a voice that is personal, powerful, and deeply rooted in Korean identity.

In a beauty industry still grappling with transparency and ethics, Korean Vegan Beauty signals a turning point—where cruelty-free skincare is not a compromise, but a celebration of self, heritage, and compassion.
