The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) was observed on Sunday, June 3, 2018. This was the eighth annual Memorial Ceremony to pay tribute to the billions of animals that are unnecessarily killed and exploited every year for food, entertainment, clothing, cosmetic and medical testing.

“NARD gives a voice to these billions and billions of anonymous nameless beings. On this day, we stop everything else, and remember them. We mourn their loss, express their pain through ours, and reach out on their behalf to anyone who has a heart to listen. We also celebrate the living animals who are part of our lives, and the great strides that are being made every year towards ending the suffering of animals, and transitioning mankind to a plant-based lifestyle. We will do so until all animals are free and have equal rights to human animals on planet Earth.”
The event sponsors included Our Planet. Theirs Too.JaneUnChainedWAN World Animal News, awell-fed world, and VAPA Veterinary Association for the Protection of Animals.

NARD was commemorated in more than 30 cities around the world. The JaneUnChained News team covered the ceremonies in five cities: Los Angeles, Portland, Dallas, New York, and Paris, France. Please check out the coverage below!
