Millions of people are choosing veganism (and plant-based eating) as a logical and sensible response to their concerns about animals, the environment, and/or their health. And yet, despite their positive intentions and the personal benefits they experience, many revert back to consuming meat, dairy, and eggs. Those who remain vegan often struggle to find hope and joy in a world where the mass production of animal products has devastating effects on animals, our wild spaces, and our health. Colleen Patrick-Goudreau is trying to change this. Having guided countless individuals through the process of becoming vegan, now, in her seventh book, The Joyful Vegan, she shares her insights!

Humans are far from perfect but you’ll be a whole lot closer as a vegan!
“Colleen Patrick-Goudreau’s compassionate living philosophy is propelling plant-based eating into the mainstream and forever changing how we regard animals. A recognized expert and thought leader on the culinary, social, ethical, and practical aspects of living compassionately and healthfully, Colleen is a speaker, cultural commentator, podcaster, and award-winning author of seven books. She shares her message of compassion and wellness on national and regional broadcast programs and as a monthly contributor to National Public Radio. She lives in Oakland, CA with her husband David and two cats Charlie and Michiko.”

Colleen outlines the phases of veganism in 10 stages in her book, which is really helpful for those who are making the transition. Now people have a guide to help them figure out exactly what they are experiencing as they adopt a compassionate lifestyle. Colleen shares the “epiphany” and “bearing witness” phases as examples of these phases. Colleen explains that each stage is not necessarily sequential and people don’t always experience every part. Her book assures people know that they are not alone in these sentiments on their individual journeys. In times like these when the world is in crisis over a virus that appears to have started from people consuming animals, this book is a refreshing reminder that change is possible. Have a smooth transition to veganism with The JoyFul Vegan. Be a part of the solution and we can avoid the next superbug pandemic that threatens to collapse society as we know it!
