Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup black or green lentils
1 1/4 cup basmati rice

4 chopped white onions

Salt and pepper

Recipe (I have most of it prepared, so I’ll just be caramelizing the second half of the onions and adding it together):

Simmer lentils in 4 1/2 cups water for 20 minutes
Simultaneously sautée half of the onions in a nonstick frying pan until golden brown (about 20 min of very thinly sliced)
Add that half of the onions as well as the rice, simmer for another 20 minutes
Sautee the other half of th onions simultaneously
Mix in the other half of the onions, salt and pepper to taste
