To juice or to smoothie? That is the question! Silver Chic Chef, Elysabeth Alfano, who also hosts the Awesome Vegans Influencer Series and the Plantbased Business Hour, faces the tough questions in the kitchen! Which do you prefer??
For Elysabeth, she juices one a week, drinking this juice and only this juice, all day. It isn’t exactly fasting, but sort of. It is like drinking sunshine with a shot of immune booster! We guaranteee it!
Juice these ingredients:
5 large carrots, washed and unpeeled
1 large lemon, peeled.
1 large red pepper, washed and cored
1″ of ginger
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne chili pepper (optional)
Ingredients & Directions:
1/2 Sweet potato, baked, no skin (but keep skin as a snack. Elysabeth loves to eat the skins!) You can make it with purple yams, likes she dies in the video, but Elysabeth says they are drier and so regular sweet potatoes are better.
1/2 Avocado
1 small ripe banana or 1/2-3/4 or a large ripe banana
Blend together. Put in bowl and put coconut flakes, hemp seed and diced dates on top. For something really hearty add raw oates. Adding oats might mean that you need a bit of date syrup to sweeten it up.
This is so very, very heart healthy if you lay low on the coconut flakes. Pure delish!
So what’s the answer? BOTH of course! Juice AND Smoothie! Follow Elysabeth on FB here.
