Let’s Save All the Horses

Hollywood, Ca. November 1st, 2026 – UnchainedTV’s Emergency Town Hall for Horses recently earned a Bronze Signal Award for Most Innovative Video Podcast (Individual Episodes), placing the network alongside high-profile 2026 Signal Award winners like Amy Poehler, Khloé Kardashian, Anderson Cooper, and Mel Robbins.

While the award highlights top-tier digital broadcasting, the story behind it centers on a government-created disaster unfolding on public lands.

It’s All Happening with Our Tax Dollars

America’s wild horse crisis is largely manufactured by federal management policies. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) routinely conducts massive roundups, systematically stripping tens of thousands of wild horses and burros from open rangelands to prioritize low-cost commercial livestock grazing. Taxpayers are left footing the bill for this operation—subsidizing both the aggressive roundups and the long-term warehousing of captured horses in holding facilities. Many of these animals ultimately end up in kill-buyer pipelines bound for slaughterhouses in Mexico and Canada.

To confront this taxpayer-funded policy, UnchainedTV founder Jane Velez-Mitchell convened front-line advocates and rescue organizations—including Heart of the Wild Equine Rescue, In Defense of Animals, NYCLASS, and Sweet Grass Advocacy for North American Equines. The live broadcast aimed to expose the mechanics of the roundup system and rally public opposition to the ongoing clearance of iconic wild herds.

“We share this honor with every single rescuer, advocate, and viewer who refuses to let our wild horses be forgotten,” said UnchainedTV Founder, President Jane Velez-Mitchell, who urged everyone to  support the frontline groups fighting tirelessly to save them:

UnchainedTV was LIVE for the historic vote by the New York City Council to phase our carriage horses by 2028, a battle that has been going on for many decades. UnchainedTV host Lindsey Baker anchored the coverage. While pro-carriage horse forces have vowed to fight the decision in court, the vote was nevertheless a history-making win for the animal rights movement.

New UnchainedTV Horse Rescue Category

Given the struggle to help horses on so many fronts — on public lands, strapped to carriages and exploited for racing, rodeos, experimentation and high-stepping — UnchainedTV has just launched an entire category of films focused solely on this species. It’s the least we can do for these iconic and majestic beings.
