Below is coverage that lays out how much we know… and how much we don’t!
A D.C. watchdog group says the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been killing hundreds of kittens that could have been adopted. UPDATE — The USDA tells ABC7 News that the total number of kittens killed in toxoplasmosis research at the Maryland lab in past five years is:

  • 2017 – 30 killed
  • 2016 – 50 killed
  • 2015 – 34 killed.
  • 2014 – 44 killed
  • 2013 – 63 killed

The USDA is still compiling the total number of kittens raised and killed in the project over its 40 years of operation.
Here’s evidence of other USDA cruelties!
