The easy, fast, and cheap ingredients used in today’s LunchbreakLIVE!
Bj’s story about how she became vegan started when she was a child. She realized something didn’t feel right about eating meat. Her mother told her she would die if she did not eat meat because she was such a thin child. During her early modeling career, she promised herself that if she ever didn’t need to maintain her weight for her job, she would stop eating animals. One day her outfit was too tight at a photoshoot and she was told she needed lose five pounds. To BJ, that was her ticket to stop eating animals or animal products. Now she has been vegan for twenty years!
Vegan fried rice in 5 minutes! Yum!
BJ Hollifield says this meal may be fast, easy, and cheap but she is not. Hilarious! She starts off her cooking by making scrambled tofu. Then she adds some vegetable fried rice premade from Trader Joe’s Grocery Store. Add a few spices and mix it all in one pan and there you go, vegan fried rice!
Tofu and country potatoes. Easy vegan never looked so good!
Jane gives the rice a thumbs up and points out because it is egg-free, it is also cholesterol free. Most importantly, animals were not harmed to make this meal! By deciding to eat plant-based meals you automatically choose healthier options for your body and you don’t support the systematic torture and death of billions of animals per year.
These dishes look so festive with a couple decorative pumpkins.
The next recipe is tofu with country potatoes. Again, BJ starts sautéing the tofu in a pot. This time it is in cubes. Then, she adds a premade Trader Joe’s country potato and mushroom mix and lets it cook. These recipes cater to new vegans especially, showing them that it can be easy, inexpensive, and flavorful to eat plant-based meals. So make your own fast, fun, and cheap vegan meals at home with the recipes below!
