Locals throw fried chicken breasts at demonstrators from their cars outside slaughterhouse during 24 hour vigil as activists bear witness to the 100,000+ chickens who, after living agonizing lives, meet their demise at this slaughterhouse ever day. “At 8 hours in, we have borne witness to 8 trucks coming into the slaughterhouse. Conservative estimate: 40,000 baby chickens have now been hung upside down and had their throats slit. We’ve smelt their fear and death as a rendering truck carrying their discarded body parts exited the facility. 16 hours to go. This is just one facility. Just one day. Tens of thousands of innocent lives stolen in the name of greed and gluttony. The sun will leave us soon, and the trucks will travel the highway cloaked in darkness.
