Sanctuary Soledad: Young Activists on a Mission to Save Animals!

#JaneUnChained LIVE from The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats in sunny Mojave, Ca. is a former dairy farm that made the compassionate choice to give it all up and become a vegan animal sanctuary in 2015. The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats has rescued and secured over 400 animals from abuse, neglect, slaughter, and the dairy/egg industries.


Carol and Julian Pearce are the founders of The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats and Jeremy Bowthrop the ranch foreman spend every minute of their lives caring for these amazing sentient beings.  They started off a no-kill dairy and eventually decided to turn the ranch into a sanctuary. Carol was actually known for “kidnapping” animals from neighboring farms and saving them from being slaughtered. This type of rescuing and compassion does not end with her at this sanctuary.

Maya Benperlas and Kalli Quigg, the sanctuary’s two rescue partners, have independently rescued and secured over 100 animals from factory farming and abuse situations in the last 6 months, which are many of the animals residing here today on The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats. Recently they rescued a baby calf, now named Liam, with the cooperation of a farmer’s wife on the day it was due to be sent for slaughter!

 

These two young women are amazing! Not even in their 20’s yet, but they are out there on a mission to save as many animals as they can! They are also activists with LA Animal Save, Liberation Los Angeles, and Animal Alliance Network, to name a few groups that they organize and regularly attend events with. The courage these two youths have couldn’t be more inspirational, and we wish them all the best in every endeavor they undertake! The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats emanates love, and it is truly a utopia for animals that would not have lived well or lived at all. Thank you for all that you rescuers and caregivers do there!
