Eight Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine Food for Life Instructors are in Washington, District of Columbia for our annual International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine meeting #ICNM18. Reporting from the Fancy Radish, a phenomenal vegan restaurant celebrating Lisa Karlan’s birthday!
It’s absolutely wonderful what this group is doing for people and the plant-based movement. The group sued the agricultural industry concerning the food pyramid falsehoods 10 years ago, and they won! They demanded that federal money be spent towards real nutritional information. Now the food pyramid is a plate thanks to their efforts. Food for Life instructors are all over the world helping people improve their nutrition and lives.
Lisa Karlan, the birthday woman of the night, has actually been a Food for Life Instructor with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine since 2012. She also has been the Learning Kitchen Coordinator for Vegfest LA since 2016. She has helped so many people by sharing her wealth of knowledge about plant-based diets, on any platform she can!
The food at the Fancy Radish in Washington D.C. looked delicious and healthy. Definitely a must try upscale vegan restaurant if you happen to find yourself in the D.C. area.
Thanks for spending your birthday with us Lisa!!!
