Newborns Cry Out For Their Mothers!

March 25, 2019
“Replacement heifers” – local farmer explains how their dairy business works: they purchase the newborn calves at 2-3 days old, they are kept in hutches for 3 months, then confined for another two years in corrals, then impregnated, and at seven months – two months before giving birth – sold to the factory dairy farms where they will undergo continuous impregnation, hooked up to milk machines, and then taken to slaughter when they no longer produce enough milk, which is about five year and five pregnancies later. Cows naturally live until about 20-25 years. Dairy industry reps are invited on to respond at any time. Dani Rukin reporting for #JaneUnChained News.
