Champion For The Animals Katie Cleary Cooks For Us!
Manjia! Manjia! Tonight we have Katie Cleary from “Peace 4 Animals” on #OneVeggieAtATime with Antoinette Westcott making Beyond Meat Chick’n Spaghetti Bolognese.
Katie has been a vegetarian for seven years and vegan for three of those years. She said cheese was the hardest animal product to give up due to its addictive quality. She started Peace 4 Animals in 2012 along with World Animal News. She decided in her 30’s that modeling and acting were great but she wanted to do more. Animal welfare is her passion so she decided to take action to help them. Katie actually interviewed Jane before JaneUnchained News Network was created! Katie is working on a second documentary called “We Are One,” to highlight the issues in animal welfare from factory farming, poaching, palm oil deforestation to the fur industry. Katie truly leads by example by showing women can be leaders and entrepreneurs.Â
Beyond Meat is one of Katie’s favorite brands of faux meat, and she recently helped film a documentary for them. Today she uses their chick’n strips and she starts by sauteing them in a pan. Antoinette lends a hand and starts boiling the spaghetti. Katie loves to use lots of garlic to stay true to her Italian Chicagoan roots. She also believes that people should put down their phones for family dinner and enjoy each other’s company in person. Next, Katie and Antoinette add the sauce to the sauteed chick’n. Eric says it smells great and Antoinette and Katie can’t wait to dig in. Try making this delicious bolognese at home with the ingredients below!
