LIVE in Oakland, California where protesters, holding roses, erupt in song as 22 animal activists are arrested for trespassing at a slaughterhouse. A lamb, a rabbit and a bird are freed by Direct Action Everywhere and rushed to a veterinarian. More than 200 activists entered the slaughterhouse to advocate for voiceless goats, lambs, chickens and rabbits killed for food, saying all of this killing of animals is unnecessary and cruel, that animals are not commodities but, instead, individuals who have a right to live. Spokesmen for this slaughterhouse say they are code compliant and are invited on #JaneUnChained any time to offer their side.
