Binge eating is not just a personal problem – it’s a societal one. Major food companies have created foods that hit all of our cravings, yet never truly satisfy. Lacking in nutrients, these foods will always leave us wanting more. Yet there is hope! In his book, Never Binge Again, Dr. Livingston shares how we can break the vicious cycle of addiction.
While some people say they’ll just ‘eat when they’re hungry and stop when they’re full’, Dr. Livingston explains that “the industry has broken our hungry and full meters with all this processed food.” To curb this cycle, we have to confront it. He counsels that weight loss shouldn’t be our main focus when changing our eating habits. Instead, he advises focusing on feeling better, being in control, or gaining clarity of mind.
