PETA Activists Protest “Beef Bowl!”

This brave group of activists took a stand against tradition this day for the animals that were sacrificed.

JaneUnChained LIVE at a protest, organized by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), of the “Beef Bowl” at Lawry’s Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, CA where players of the two college football teams playing in the upcoming Rose Bowl, this year the Oregon Football Ducks and the Wisconsin Badgers, reportedly are gathering for this annual pre-game meal of massive amounts of red meat, a tradition since 1956.

Activists stand strong protesting the celebration based on eating animal flesh!

Activists lined up to express their disdain for the “Beef Bowl” because they don’t believe that the consumption of animals should be a way to celebrate. They hope that their message breaks through to these football players and other participants of the “Beef Bowl” so they can make the connection with the animals who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to be dismantled and end up on their plates. Zafir Molina expresses her disappointment with the “Beef Bowl”. She makes a great point when she says the players may not realize what they are eating may not be good for them. Brittany Drake furthers this sentiment when she cites the recently released documentary The Game Changers, which shows NFL athletes peak performance on plant-based diets. When there is every reason to go vegan and no reason not to, these activists hope that in 2020 these teams will leave this archaic tradition in the past.

Activists greet the bus of football players with their signs in opposition to the consumption of animals.

Paige and Sara Segel hold up signs with one vegan activist who say he’s a former employee of the restaurant.

We invite on any representatives from Lawry’s The Prime Rib, Beverly Hills restaurant, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Oregon Ducks to discuss this protest at any time.

One employee wears a referee outfit that says “Beef Bowl” on the back.

Protestors Matt Braun/ Matthew Peta Braun, Brittany Drake with Direct Action Everywhere – DxE, Molly Marie Basler with the Green Dream Campaign, Sarah Segal, Michael Fujimori, David Rutan, Zafir Molina, Jesus Nuñez, Kathy Cullen and Meira Geyser to name a few, passionately speak out for animal liberation and stand for the health of these young men.

Protestors suggest players watch the powerful newly released film The Game Changers on Netflix, Inc. to see how pro athletes get their plant-based protein, a much healthier choice than red meat!

Paige is pictured hard at work bringing us coverage of this protest!
