Filmmaker Kip Andersen produced the wildly popular Seaspiracy, Cowspiracy, and What the Health. Now, he’s back with Christspiracy, his most astonishing movie yet.

Hollywood, California November 2nd, 2023 – Kip Andersen has made a name for himself by asking really good questions and letting the trail take him wherever it leads. Usually, that’s straight into office of someone who is somehow connected to the world’s most morally bankrupt industry: animal agriculture.

Now, Andersen has teamed up with Kameron Waters, a former Sony Records-signed gospel musician, to take on perhaps the most controversial topic of all: how religion treats animals.  To do this, the filmmakers cut ties with the streaming giant Netflix, citing the need for creative independence. Religion is a notoriously incendiary subject and their stated mission is to “…unearth a 2000-year-old secret that seeks to foster shared compassion across various faiths, particularly during this sensitive junction in history.”

Andersen’s earlier films (Cowspiracy, Seaspiracy, and What The Health) exposed animal agriculture’s terrible impact on the overall environment, sea life and human health. Christspiracy: The Spirituality Secret dives into the religious sphere and uncovers some head-spinning information.

An award-winning filmmaker, Kip Andersen points out, “Our previous documentaries are some of the most-watched in the last decade, but we aim to make Christspiracy the biggest by far. What we found will shake viewers to their core.”

Christspiracy was originally supposed to be a Netflix Original film (then titled “Cowspiritual”), along with Seaspiracy (which garnered over 6 billion impressions during its first month on the platform). However, this time, the film’s co-creators say they chose to take an unprecedented step and buy back their film from Netflix.

So, Where Will Christspiracy Be Shown?

The filmmakers have announced they now plan a global, independent release of the film to be launched on what they describe as “an independent streaming platform powered by Pay-It-Forward, a donation-based payment model that allows anyone in the world to view the film and ‘gift’ a viewing to another person.”

Like Andersen’s other films, this documentary takes the viewer on a journey of discovery. The filmmakers say they have interviewed everyone from “…renowned theologians and archeologists to Christian farmers and Indigenous shamans spanning global religions like Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and others.” The big question the film asks is this: “Is there an ethical or spiritual way to kill an animal?” The answer takes the viewer on a wild ride across “religion, spirituality, philosophy, sociology, and psychology.”

The team has also launched a Kickstarter campaign. Supporters will be able to “pre-order a digital version of the film to watch it before anyone else, receive additional rewards such as swag, get their name in the film’s credits, or even walk the red carpet with the co-producers.”

Bottom line? This movie is, as the trailer explains, the film THEY don’t want you to see. Who is THEY? You’ve got to watch the movie to find out. Suffice it to say, it will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about religion and spirituality.
