Layered Jackfruit Tostada Goodness!
This was a special edition of #SaturdaySnackDown with Recipe Developer, Sahar Belle. She made an amazing brunch for us, using the popular meat replacement, Jackfruit. The Jackfruit is a species of tree in the fig, mulberry, and breadfruit family. Its origin is in the region of Southeast Asia. Jackfruit is a popular vegan staple because it has the texture of meat, like pulled pork, and absorbs flavor very well, but doesn’t contain any of the cruelty!
Today, Sahar makes us irresistible, mouthwatering Jackfruit Tostadas. BUT not just ANY boring plain Tostadas. She makes homemade, Jackfruit Tostadas with Mexican Mirepoix. They are multi-layered with total deliciousness.
Sahar is pure magic in the kitchen. She is an extraordinary plant-based recipe developer, but that’s not all. She is also a media content producer, reporter, host, and juicer extraordinaire. When Sahar is not making magic in the kitchen, she likes to spend much of her time at VegFests all over the world. Sahar is known for her specialty Artisanal Mexican cheese: Queso Fresco, and authentic flavor-filled native vegan dishes. She loves to develop her own plant-based recipes, and share them with the world.
You can watch her alchemize in the kitchen on her YouTube Show, Unlearning Everything With Sahar Belle.
