Who doesn’t love baked beans? And BBQ baked beans at that! It is the perfect side dish for any BBQ or potluck or even a picnic under the sky at a nearby park. All at a social distance of course, since we are still in the midst of the Covid Pandemic! Today Michelle May shares with us her favorite BBQ baked bean recipe…and I am excited!

This is a super simple recipe, which as you know is the only kind of recipe for me…simple. Ha Ha. So I will for sure be making this for my next potluck. let’s see how they turned out.
BBQ Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 2 cans 30 ounces / 3 cups white beans, drained
- 1 finely chopped red onion
- 1 - 2 finely chopped jalapeños depending on spice preference
- ¼ cup coconut sugar
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons tamari gluten-free soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon braggs aminos
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon avocado oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Set beans, onions and jalapenos aside, whisk together remaining ingredients in a large bowl.
- Stir in beans, onions and jalapenos. Add salt and pepper.
- Bake uncovered for 60 minutes.
BBQ Baked Beans Can Be Served With Many Other Side Dishes!
This traditional, one-dish recipe is simple but always stands out at a picnic or potluck.
