All You Need Is The Right Tofu Sauce!

Kyle Breslow is a CPA and senior manager at Goodfriend & Jacobs. Kyle has a background in entertainment taxation and business management. As a graduate from Cal Poly SLO, he began his career auditing financial statements of public companies with Grant Thornton in San Francisco. He then became a financial controller and eventually transitioned to business management, running a tax department for a small business management firm. It was during this time that he discovered his love of helping entertainment clients with their finances. Kyle’s favorite aspect of working with entertainers is the positive impact he is able to have on his clients’ lives and the appreciation he receives for his work. As an aspiring partner, Kyle is an integral part of the firm growth as he continues to provide exclusive and personal attention to its clientele. According to Kyle, “When you’re working closely with a client’s finances, it’s important to know your client intimately and always have your finger on the pulse in terms of where they are at and what they need to be doing to achieve their goals.” 

Kyle is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of CPAs. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, including Mt. Whitney and the Grand Canyon with his wife, playing tennis, or watching Shark Tank while pretending he is the fifth shark.

What’s The Secret in the Tofu Sauce?

The tofu sauce makes the magic in this dish come to life.  So what is the secret?  Well, it’s a combo of a few different delicious ingredients that when combined, creates a burst of flavor you are sure to love.  There is tamari or soy sauce, lemon juice, maple syrup, sriracha (oh yeah!), garlic powder, and coconut oil.  Mix that all together and let your tofu absorb the awesomeness and you are good to go.  I am posting the full recipe below, so you can make magic too at home!

Tasty Tofu with Magic Sauce, Broccoli, and Rice

Course Main Courses

Ingredients
  

  • 14 oz Organic Firm Tofu
  • 3 tbs soy or tamari sauce low sodium
  • 1 1/2 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1-2 tsp sriracha or viracha sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbs coconut oil or water
  • 3 cups of broccoli
  • 1 cup of white or brown rice
  • salt optional to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. add 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water and boil. Use directions on rice for how long to cook. Place tofu in tofu press. Place broccoli in small pieces on cooking sheet. optional drizzle with olive oil and add salt to taste. Add pepper to taste. Bake broccoli for 15 minutes. mix tamari or soy, lemon, maple syrup, sriracha or viracha, and garlic powder together in bowl. squeeze out remaining water in tofu and cut into 24 small pieces and add to sauce, mix to make sure to cover all of the tofu in sauce. Add either coconut oil or water to pan and get hot. Add tofu but leave remaining sauce in bowl. let cook for 3 minutes or until brown then add rest of sauce and flip until other side is brown. Serve with tofu on rice and broccoli on the side and enjoy!
